My father was a caterer. All the children were required to help out with this business as soon as they were old enough to do so. Here I am tidying up during potato peeling activities. It was not unusual to peel up tp 1000 pounds of potatoes, by hand, during warm weather Saturdays. Late Spring through Summer was the busiest time of the year. In the darker portions of this photo many pots can be seen. The basement was the place where preliminary food preparation was done. Health regulations were not comparable to today's standards but, there never was any incidence of any intestinal discomfort associated with the thousands of meals served over the years.

Pictured here with me is my cousin "Junior" Zushin and "Sammy" Tuefel. The catering business was the source of modest extra income for many people in the community.
